Objectives
Students will be introduced to the concept of pharmacogenomics, a branch of personalized medicine looking at how genes influence a person’s response to medications. Students will learn how genetic information can help healthcare providers optimize treatment regimens. Hands on activities will reinforce the genetic basis for how everyone responds to medications differently.
Faculty and students from the University of South Florida College of Pharmacy have teamed up to create Tampa Bay DNA Day 2016. The purpose of this event is to allow students in the Tampa Bay area to learn about innovative advancements in the field of pharmacogenomics and what a career in healthcare has to offer.
We will do our best to accomodate as many classrooms as possible based on ambassador availability.
